SF’s Favorite Charity–A thank you note

Because of you, Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco has been named one of San Francisco’s Top Seven Favorite Charities in 7×7 Magazine and Pacific Gas and Electric’s annual contest. Congratulations to Upwardly Global, the overall winners. We’re thrilled to have been a part of celebrating their success, and completely honored to be named one of the top seven of more than 2,000 nominations in San Francisco (still just a sliver of all the great organizations in the Bay Area). This was an exciting opportunity to have been a part of over the past three months, and while we’ll continue to wear our Top 7 of 2012 title proudly, wanted to extend our thanks as the contest closes:

Thank you to 7×7 Magazine for providing this opportunity. For the third year, 7×7 has helped bring awareness to the great non-profits and charities in San Francisco and the work they are doing by hosting this contest.

Thank you to PG&E for being a continuing your long-time partnership with Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco and other Bay Area non-profits by adding a grant to this title. These funds allows us and the other top 7 to follow the awareness raised by this contest with more service to the San Francisco community.

Thank you to our fellow nominees: WOMAN, Inc; SFSMILES; Meals on Wheels San Francisco; Larkin Street Youth Services; Rocket Dog Rescue; and winners Upwardly Global. We are honored to have been grouped with such impactful organizations in the Top 7, and all of the nominees in the Top 49.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote and especially those who mobilized others to vote for us. As the saying goes, “every vote counts,” and every vote for one of the Top 49 then Top 7 charities made a difference to bring attention to all of our causes.

Thank you to our volunteers, donors and homeowners, without whom we could not be the organization that we are. We know that you are the best community members a non-profit could ask for, and the honor of being one of San Francisco’s Top 7 Favorite Charity is as much yours as it is ours.

Thank you to Greater San Francisco for letting us serve you for the last 23 years, and for letting us be your one of your favorite charities of 2012, and hopefully beyond.
